Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Miss Rainbow (95) – An improvement of 2 lengths per mile from the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor on her previous C&D effort. Unfortunately, the winner Moyola (100) took to the sand very well on debut. It was encouraging to see another step forward from the selection. Result 2nd 9/1 adv…11/1 SP.
1pt e/way Storm Eric (Non Runner)
1pt e/way Vadiana (111) – Just enough pace, on over the shorter trip, for the selection to come through and put her head in front at the finish. Another excellent effort on the clock for a horse with a handicap mark of just (78). She should be much more comfortable over the mile, and looks one to follow on sand over the coming months. Result 1st 5/1 adv…Rule 4 10c….3/1JF SP
Today’s Advice
Running Star (9f 104y Novice) – This 3yo colt caught the eye on debut when staying on nicely at Southwell over the extended 8f. Trainer Hugo Palmer steps him up in distance for tonight’s (7.30) Wolverhampton to the extended 9f. The speed rating of (103) was very decent, and while second day at school is always different, there is enough in the price to warrant an interest. David Probert is on board, and hopefully he can continue to teach the son of Zoustar. The Owen Burrows trained favourite Tarjeeh looks the obvious one to beat on form, but has a 463 day absence to overcome.
Sao Timothy (12f 51y Hcap) – This lightly raced gelding has been running over shorter distances in the past which did not appear to suit. The step up to the extended 9 furlongs lto was the first time the son of Fast Company showed any form when keeping on at the finish into fourth place. Trainer Robert Stephens steps him up in distance to the extended 12f for tonight’s (8.00) Wolverhampton, and hopefully the extra distance will allow him to show even more pace at the business end. The handicapper has left him alone on a mark of (49), and middle distances look the way to go with him at the moment.
