1pt win Elzaal (101) – The selection never travelled early in the race, and kept on at the finish to dead heat for fourth. A below par performance.

1pt e/way Luke Short (106) – A return to form for the selection who showed that he has a special liking for the Dundalk surface. There was just enough pace for him to show his best, coming home 1/2 length too strong for Jaafel. Result 1st 9/1 adv….SP 5/1

Today’s Advice

Warm Heart (10f Grade 1) – This filly recorded a career best (115) speed figure at York when travelling very well over the extended 11f in the Yorkshire Oaks on Good To Firm ground, before hanging on by a head at the finish from Free Wind. The drop back to 10f should be within her compass for the (7.10) Santa Anita tonight, and she is well drawn in stall (2) to get a nice position. Inspiral is an obvious danger, and it will be interesting to see how she copes with the step up in trip and the firm going.

Auguste Rodin (12f Grade 1) – Everything seems to be in place for this 3yo for tonight’s (9.50) Santa Anita with question marks surrounding most of his rivals. I have concerns over Mostahdaf at the trip, King of Steel had a hard race 14 days ago, Onesto on the ground, and wondering is there a champion among the rest of them? Obviously the favourite has his own question marks about consistency, but the standout piece of form, over the distance, is the selection getting the better of King Of Steel in the Epsom Derby.. A fascinating contest in store tonight.
