1pt e/way Tiger Beetle (101) – A slowly run affair where the selection travelled very well, and was well positioned by Rob Hornby during the race. Both horse and jockey showed great battling qualities to get up near the line. Result 1st 11/2, 5/1 advised…..7/2 SP

Today’s Advice

Little Keilee & Hero Of The Hour (7f Hcap) – Little Keilee caught the eye last week when denied a clear run over the mile, at this venue, in a strongly run race behind Sea Chariot. The handicapper has left her unchanged for that effort from a mark of (67) for today’s (4.05) Dundalk, and she has reappeared quickly in the past following a decent effort to perform well. The drop back in trip shouldn’t be a problem, and it will be interesting to see if she can reproduce that effort. She is drawn wide in stall (12), and hopefully 3lb claimer Scott McCullagh can find a nice position for her during the race. Hero Of The Hour is a horse I have been waiting for to step up in trip for a long time. He has yet to show his very best this season, but I feel if he can improve to something like last year’s form he should be very competitive sooner rather than later.

Harriet Eagle (10f 150y Hcap) – This lightly raced filly caught the eye on her comeback run last month when stepping up in trip, and making a sweeping move around the entire field over 6f out to challenge the leaders. She raced keenly that day, and hopefully today’s more experienced pilot Alan Persse can get her to relax a bit better for today’s (5.40) Dundalk. The winning time of that race was well above par, and her pedigree indicates that today’s distance should be well within her compass. The market looks to have underestimated her chances today, and it will be interesting to see if she can come forward from her last effort.
