Different Breed (7f 1y Novice) – This 2yo looks to be heading in the right direction following a decent third place finish when recording a speed figure of (100) behind Gunfighter at Wolverhampton over the extended seven furlongs. He raced keenly that day, and hopefully he will learn to settle better in front as he progresses. The drop back in trip for today’s (12.54) Lingfield should suit, and he looks worth a small interest against the favourite Rockstar Icon who is returning from a 190 day break.

Makinmedoit (10f Listed) – A step back up in trip for this 4yo filly should see her in a better light for today’s (1.54) Lingfield following an excellent staying on effort over the mile at Kempton. A repeat of any of her three C&D performances from last winter would see her very competitive in today’s contest. Her form with Al Agaila when trying to give that rival weight last winter looks very strong considering that rival’s recent exploits at Deauville. As a hold up performer she does need others to do the work for her. Hopefully Youthful King can ensure a decent pace for today’s race.

Harb (6f 1y Hcap) – A small speculative interest looks worthwhile in this 4yo for today’s (2.24) Lingfield based on some decent form from last winter. He has had a light campaign since finishing up on the Turf for the season in September. He returned from a 59 day break when keeping on over the minimum trip at this venue in November. It may be that today is another sighter for connections, but it shouldn’t be long before he can make his presence felt on the all-weather this winter. He races off a 1lb lower handicap mark today than his last winning one, and he will be worth keeping an eye on this all-weather season. His form behind Tyger Bay in this race last year off a handicap mark of 78 would indicate that he may be a bit overpriced in today’s market.

Miss Moonshine (6f 1y Hcap) – A pleasing return to action following a 158 day break for this filly eight days ago when hitting the frame behind Sassy Redhead over this C&D. She is able to race off the same lowly handicap mark of 52 again, and providing she doesn’t “bounce” she should be able to make her presence felt considering she was rated 61 in March of this year. Her C&D win over Arbaawi from February would indicate that she should be finding the winner’s enclosure soon.
