Yesterday’s Review
1pt e/way Ursa Minor (106) – An excellent effort from the selection who just found the Godolphin hotpot too good. The market got this one wrong pricing him up as the 66/1 outsider of the field considering his strong form at the track. It was an excellent ride from Connor Beasley who made use of his low draw in securing a beautiful position early on in the race. Result 2nd 66/1 adv….25/1 SP
1pt win Mr Kafoo (101) – A three length per mile inferior performance from the selection on his most recent effort over C&D. Thankfully, he was able to get the job done with credit going to Connor Beasley once again who allowed Chief Of Navy to give him a lead, but the selection is not one to have great confidence in going forward. Result 1st 15/8 adv…5/2 SP
0.5pt e/way Morning (100) – A very disappointing display from the selection who recorded a ten length per mile inferior performance compared to his most recent effort. His last effort was too good to be true, and he refused to play ball once again. He failed to make the frame just coming up 1/4 length short having blown the start.
Today’s Advice
Reputation (7f 14y Hcap) – Ruth Carr’s horses are showing some decent form with Reigning Profit having smashed up the clock at Wolverhampton recently. This eleven-year-old still looks capable of finding the winner’s enclosure judged by his last two efforts on the clock. A (103) speed figure when getting up to win by a nose over 7f at Chelmsford, and a (105) when not getting the clearest of runs over C&D lto, look decent form for today’s drop in class to a (0-63) handicap. The handicapper has kindly dropped him a pound for that latest effort over C&D, and the market looks to have him a tad overpriced for tonight’s (6.30) Southwell.
Qeyaady (10f 219y Hcap) – This six-year-old has tumbled down the handicap ratings since arriving in the UK from France, and may now be at a mark where he can get his head in front once again. He has dropped 17lbs in the handicap to a mark of 48 since being trained by Pat Phelan, and his most recent effort when placed over 12f at Lingfield following a 61 day break would see him competitive in today’s race. On that occasion he had to use up some petrol early on from his wide draw in stall nine to sit prominent off the pace, and made his winning bid when leading on the home turn before being collared at the furlong pole coming home 2 1/4 lengths behind The Conqueror. A (102) speed figure behind Culture, from a bad draw in stall 12, off a 10lb higher mark in September 2022 when last seen on the all-weather is another decent piece of form from the son of Muhaarar. He looks worth a small interest at a double figure price today.
