Yesterday’s Review
1pt win Mythical Power (117) – A solid enough performance from the selection who hit the front at the last, but was seen off by the battling winner who looked beaten up the run-in. Perhaps better ground may suit him better, but it was disappointing he couldn’t finish out his race better.
0.75pt e/way Trelawne (Fell) – Not much of a run for our money here with our selection falling at the second fence.
1pt win Ring Of Gold (88) – The selection raced keenly early on, and was hanging to his left up the home straight. He looks a difficult ride who has now won just one of his last twenty. One I should have let go at the the prices.
1pt e/way Flash The Dash (100) – A decent performance from the selection to make the frame on the line. He does need a strong pace, and can take a long time to get going. He might be worth a try over seven furlongs. Result 4th 9/2 adv..5/1 SP
0.75pt e/way Seven Brothers (98) – An alarming drift on the selection from 10/1 out to 28/1. He raced keenly, and was badly hampered in his run by the winning jockey Jason Hart who received a two day ban. The way he finished out his race though led me to believe there might not be a lot in the tank going forward.
Today’s Advice
Madara (15F 199Y Chase) – This improving five-year-old has proven an excellent French import for trainer Sophie Leech winning his last two starts with a career best on Soft ground at Leopardstown recently. On that occasion he finished two and three quarter lengths ahead of Path D’Oroux (who re-opposes on 6lb better terms today) with Solness back in third. The handicapper has raised him 10lbs for today’s (4.50) Cheltenham, and there could be more to come. James Reveley takes the ride again, and he looks worth a sporting interest for the hat-trick.
1pt e/way Madara (5/1 General 5 places) 4.50 Cheltenham
