Starsoftheclock Saturday 16th March 2024 Selections and Review

16th March, 2024 @ 9:50am

Yesterday’s Review

0.5pt e/way Corach Rambler (118) – A fine round of jumping from the selection on ground that would have been softer than ideal to finish third beaten just thirteen lengths by the impressive winner. This was a great effort with next month’s Grand National in mind. Result 3rd 14/1 adv…14/1 SP.

0.5pt e/way Nassalam(Pulled Up) – The selection found this opposition too hot for him, and would have preferred even softer conditions.

0.75pt e/way Spirit Of Paradise (92) – A slowly run race in which the selection was poorly placed, and looked to have almost clipped heels during her run. Although her finishing effort looked less than genuine, she may have been feeling the effects of that earlier incident.

1pt e/way Baileys Warrior (98) – A race Robert Havlin may like to have had back having gone for home a long way out due to the slow pace. She may be given another chance in the right race going forward.

Today’s Advice

Shuf Dubai (1400M Cns) – Part of the conundrum of Emirates Racing is the transfer of form between Meydan and Jebel Ali. As both tracks are so different, it is rare that a horse can reproduce strong efforts at both. That could be the case for today’s (12.15) Jebel Ali with a few contestants at the front of the market such as Quartier and Falcon Of Arabia trying to reproduce Meydan form here. I always prefer course form at this venue, and I will side with the Military Artist form from the 1st March over course and distance. There is only a neck between the selection and the winner that day, and with the winner wearing a first time tongue tie, I am happy to have an interest on the Bernardo Pinheiro ridden three year old. The son of Frosted showed better restraint last time out than previously over the mile, and stuck to his task well at the finish. He looks the right price for a sporting each way bet today.
