Today’s Advice

God Bless America (7F 14Y Mdn) – This Eve Johnson Houghton three-year-old recorded the best time performance on the clock of today’s (5.45) Southwell field when finishing second behind long odds on shot Mr Swivell over the extended mile at this venue last time out. On that occasion he was not knocked about at the finish when it was obvious the winner had flown in the home straight. The drop back in trip is a slight question mark considering he was keeping on at the business end of that race. However, at the prices he looks worth a small interest with today’s course experience under his belt against today’s opposition.

The Real McKay (6F 16Y Hcap) – This three-year-old filly recorded a career best speed figure of (102) last time out over course and distance ten days ago when travelling smoothly throughout the race before just being collared inside the final furlong by Stacey Racey. She looks a filly with plenty of substance, and while there is a chance tonight’s (7.15) Southwell may come a bit soon for her, she looks a little overpriced in the market. Her form on the clock fits in right at the top with tonight’s rivals, and a decent draw in stall five should give her every chance to reproduce her last effort.
