Today’s Advice

Harry The Haggler (7F Handicap) – This Stuart Williams trained four year old is a mere pound above his last winning handicap mark for tonight’s (9.00) Chelmsford. A sixth place finish last time out may appear disappointing at first glance, however, he was returning from a seventy six day absence in a higher grade than tonight’s contest. On that occasion he was held up in rear behind the front-running Smart Deal, over tonight’s course and distance, before making decent headway inside the final furlong. A one and three quarter length defeat while recording a (104) speed figure reads well in the context of tonight’s finale. Rossa Ryan takes the ride again, and everything looks in place for another solid performance from this consistent type. He can race more prominently, and his most likely danger should be the short priced favourite Conquest Of Power. The four year old gelding was very impressive at Lingfield last time out winning by three and three quarter lengths while wearing a first time visor. It will be interesting to see if the headgear can produce the same type of performance.
