Yesterday’s Review
1pt e/way Run Run Timing (103) – Another consistent effort from the selection who tracked the leaders Golden Bull (98) and Speedy Chariot (95). It looked like he had the race in safe keeping when he hit the front a furlong from home. He ended up getting collared in the last strides getting beaten a short head and a head. We were right to take on the unplaced short priced favourite Super Infinity (103) in the end. Result 3rd 8/1 adv..73/10 SP.
Today’s Advice
Fastman (7f Hcap) – This eight-year-old gelding had his first run for trainer John McConnell at Gowran Park just over two weeks ago following a 180 day break, and he performed with credit from a wide draw in stall fifteen that day finishing in a dead-heat for fourth beaten just two lengths. He has plummeted down the handicap ratings since the start of last season, and now finds himself racing off a career low mark of 48. His trainer is well capable of getting regressing horses to spark back to winning form as we saw with our 28/1 winning selection of Gatsby Cap at Dundalk back in January. He will need one horse to come out of tonight’s (6.20) Roscommon as he is first reserve, but he looks a little overpriced providing he can show his best fifteen days after his seasonal reappearance. He has performed well following a quick reapparance following his seasonal debut in the past, notably when finishing third from stall eighteen at Leopardstown behind Hightimeyouwon last season. It will be interesting to see if his new trainer can work his magic yet again going forward.
