Today’s Advice

Manhattan Dandy (7f 94y Hcap) – Today’s advertised Soft ground at Roscommon should suit this seven-year-old whose last win came from a two pound lower mark on Heavy ground back in April. He hasn’t had the chance to race on a soft surface since his third place finish at Gowran Park in May, and conditions would have been too fast over a trip too far last time out. Improving apprentice Keithen Kennedy takes a valuable seven pounds off, and he should be ridden prominently from his draw in stall eleven for today’s (4.45) Roscommon. Dangers include recent Killarney winner Nibras Rainbow who appreciated the softer surface on the day, and Dark Viper who has some placed form with conditions on the slow side.

Bhean Saibhre (12f 17y Hcap) – The (7.15) Roscommon looks a competitive event for three-year-olds in which the selection, trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, may be one that has flown under the radar slightly. She looks a big filly who has plenty of improving to do, and she recorded a decent (99) speed figure on the clock last time out at Naas over the shorter ten furlongs trip. That was her first run in three hundred and eighty four days so there should be more improvement to come. The race has yielded four wins and two second places, so the form has been boosted plenty enough. She showed a bit of knee action on the day, and while today’s conditions and step up in trip may be unknown factors at the moment she looks the right price for a speculative interest with an eye on her for the future.
