Trilby (6f Hcap) – Trainer Sam England has done a fine job with this four-year-old since acquiring him from George Boughey. It may not appear that way from a handicapping point of view having been raised just eight pounds since last August by the handicapper to a rating of 76 for today’s (4.15) Bronze Cup at Ayr. However, from a timing angle he has really turned a corner in his last two efforts with figures of (111) and (110) respectively. Jockey Joe Fanning has been getting on well with him, and judging by his latest effort at Thirsk he looks well treated from the same handicap mark. As a hold-up performer he will need luck in-running and a decent pace to aim at. With prominent racers Jonny Concrete, Parisiac and Cavalier Approach in today’s race he should get a decent enough pace to aim at. He looks the right price for a sporting interest.
Top Of The Class (8f Hcap) – This four-year-old filly has won her last two races over today’s course and distance, and the handicapper has only raised her four pounds for her latest win. Both races were run differently, one with a fast pace and her latest a slow pace, showing her versatility. She is a hold-up performer and a decent pace from prominent racers King Of Fury, Diddy Man and Beauty Genereation should help her case for today’s (5.45) Kempton.
Havana Sky (6f Hcap) – A return to tonight’s trip should suit this Ed Dunlop trained three-year-old following a keeping on fourth place ten days ago over Lingfield’s sharp five furlongs. He had previously won at Thirsk when last seen over six furlongs, and he looks well treated going forward from a lowly handicap mark of 51 for tonight’s (7.15) Kempton. Any pace from Kessaar Power and Profitman will help as he was slowly away last time out, and is drawn in stall nine tonight. His final two furlongs at Linfield were the fastest of the field, and if he can continue putting his best foot forward there should be a few more wins for him. This will be his first attempt at this track so we cannot be sure if he will take to this right-handed venue. However, he is the right price for a small interest.
