Powerful Nation (5f Lst 2yo) – Andrew Slattery’s two-year-old recorded a (109) speed figure when winning nicely over tonight’s course and distance two weeks ago. The most noticeable aspect of that victory was how well the Sioux Nation colt travelled throughout the race. He looked green when sent to the front inside the final furlong, but still won cosily at the line. That performance is the best on the clock of tonight’s (6.15) Dundalk field, although there are plenty of unexposed dangers. Richard Hughes sends over a similarly impressive filly in Sayidah Dariyan who recorded a (107) figure over six furlongs when winning by thirteen lengths at Lingfield. She made all from a wide draw that day, and the selection will not find things easy to close her down at the finish. Ger Lyons also has an impressive filly in Revoke (103) who raced prominently when winning her maiden at Naas over the extended five furlongs by four and three quarter lengths. She has been a well-backed favourite this morning, but I am happy to take a chance on the course and distance form of the selection.
