Yesterday’s Review
0.75pt e/way Sylkie (107) – Another fine performance over course and distance from this filly who improved again on the clock. The race set up nicely for her, and jockey Rory Cleary gave her a peach of a ride. He found the gaps at the right time from a rail position, coming home one and three quarter lengths to the good over Vassula Ryden (105). There should be another one of these in her. Result 1st 11/1 adv…6/1F SP.
0.5pt e/way Camachero (87) – The selection failed to handle the Heavy going, and demonstrated the difference between form on ground with a bit of cut in it and Heavy going.
0.5pt e/way Pink Oxalis (84) – A much better performance from the selection who looked to be travelling very nicely coming into the home straight. Unfortunately, jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle had a nightmare passage from there meeting trouble everywhere he turned before giving up inside the final furlong. Very unlucky, as hold-up performers can sometimes be.
0.75pt e/way Alfalfa (102) – A similar story to the selection above with Wayne Hassett going down too many dark alleys in the home straight. This horse is due a bit of good luck.
0.75pt e/way Gustav Graves (99) – A four lengths per mile slower performance than his most recent at Wolverhampton. A return to that track should suit him better, even though he has some decent enough form at Newcastle.
