Today’s Advice
Autumn Rose (7f 36y Hcap 3yo) – This Tony Carroll trained filly’s form would appear at first glance to be a bit hit and miss. In fact, she has only placed in one of her last eight races. However, her last performance over course and distance came in a race where the first six home equalled or better the par for class speed figure. On that occasion she raced prominently from her wide draw in stall eight, with no cover, before her challenge petered out inside the final furlong. The winner Straight A has won again since, and both Lady Wingalong and Book Of Life have finished in the first three. That effort has her at the top of the recent time chart for today’s (5.00) Wolverhampton, and the question will be can she reproduce it? Her form on ground described as good or faster look’s reasonable from the summer with two decent efforts at Haydock, including a win from today’s handicap mark. It may also pay to be a bit more patient on her tonight, from her kind draw in stall five, and seek cover behind likely prominent racer Shibuya Storm. At the prices on offer she looks worth a sporting interest with plenty of boxes ticked for her. Winning November Handicap jockey Jack Doughty takes a valuable five pounds off her back, and he was on board for her only career win so far back in July.
