Yesterday’s Review
0.75pt e/way Wilde And Dandy (108) – The selection missed the break at the start, and enjoyed the strong pace set by Spartan Fighter and Embarked. He travelled nicely into the race from a midfield position, and took up the running inside the two furlong point before holding Charlie Mason (107) by three quarters of a length. He shouldn’t go up too much, and judging by the mood he is in should be able to land a Class 5 soon. Result 1st 8/1, 15/2 adv…5/1 SP.
0.5pt e/way El Hibri (93) Charles Bishop’s mount failed to build on his recent effort at Southwell weakening over a furlong from home having raced prominently. He looks a long way from his previous best.
Today’s Advice
Draiocht (7f Hcap) – The (5.30) Dundalk looks to have the right contestants at the head of the market judging by the clock with Ferrari Desert and Harry The Rogue both short prices. The selection showed decent improvement when first seen on the polytrack in November behind Comfort Line over the mile. It was his latest race though that gave the indication that a win may not be too far away. He improved six lengths per mile on the clock when finishing one and three quarter lengths behind ex-Godolphin winner Tribal Moon, and the third place finisher Morning Approach has won since. The drop back in trip to seven furlongs might suit his keen nature, and the draw in stall fifteen has not proven as detrimental to horses chances round here as it may have done a few years ago. At the prices he looks worth a sporting interest against the obvious pair at the head of the market.
Marchetti (7f Hcap) – This seven-year-old mare has shown admirable consistency for trainer Jimmy Fox since having a wind operation last season. Two wins and eight places from fourteen races have shown the positive effects it has had on her form. As a hold-up performer she usually needs a decent pace to aim at, and the (8.10) Kempton looks to have a few in it that like to get on with things. Voltaic, Hello Zabeel and Fact or Fable fall into that category and she looks worth an interest for tonight’s contest considering she only found Adace too good when last seen over this course and distance back in October.
