Today’s Advice

Kanaille De Faust (1900m Gp2 Pure Arabian) – The step up in trip from 1400m should see this four-year-old in a better light for today’s (1.30) Meydan. Last time out in a Group 2 at this venue, he was always on the back foot, having raced from the rear, before finishing best of the field to snatch third place from what looked an impossible position turning into the home straight. Sandro Paiva takes the ride again, and hopefully he can travel better over today’s longer distance.

Showtime Mahomes (6f 16y Am Hcap) – The selection has shown a real liking for today’s course and distance having recorded some of his best speed figures round here. He appears to be in more consistent form lately than he had been during this turf season, and with one of the better amateurs on board for tonight’s (8.15) Southwell looks worth sticking with from a kind draw in stall three. He has raced in midfield lately, and should get a nice lead from prominent racers Airshow and First Company. Favourite Monsieur Beaulieu was impressive last time out at Lingfield, and it will be interesting to see how he handles today’s different surface.
