Today’s Advice
Kaleidoscope Eyes (7f 36y Hcap) – The selection put up a career best on the clock last time out over course and distance when making all to hold off Maid of Killybegs by two and a half lengths. The handicapper has raised her six pounds, and there may be an improver lurking in the George Boughey trained favourite Blue Anthem, but she looks the right price for an interest in the hope she can repeat the last performance. She doesn’t need to make the running, and we will be hoping she doesn’t get involved in a pace duel with last time out front runner Inconspicuous. Ali Rawlinson, who was on-board last time out takes the ride again in today’s (5.30) Wolverhampton. Arlecchino’s Rex put up his best performance last time out on Polytrack at Kempton, and it will be interesting to see if the first-time hood enables him to put up a more determined finish.
Gustav Graves (6f 20y Hcap) – The selection has been in decent form lately with a win over course and distance, and a runner-up finish at Newcastle last time out. Although he has won at Newcastle in the past, most of his career wins have come at today’s venue. He usually races off the pace, so any pace from the likes of Rosenpur, Wedgewood and Level Up for tonight’s (6.30) Wolverhampton will be appreciated. Buraback has also been in solid form lately, and the faster they go up front the better for him too as he is drawn wide in stall eight, and will be making his effort from the rear. Joanna Mason knows the selection well now, and hopefully he can continue his solid recent form.
Just Ten High (6f 20y Hcap) – There doesn’t appear to be much between the selection and favourite King’s Crown for tonight’s (8.00) Wolverhampton judging by their meeting on the 4th January over six furlongs at Southwell. On that occasion there was just a neck between the two rivals at the finish, and although the Dylan Cunha trained gelding is two pounds better off for tonight’s contest the son of Ten Sovereigns will be having his first race at this venue. He likes to race prominently, and hopefully he can obtain a nice position behind Sir Rodneyredblood and Next Second from his draw in stall one. Rhys Clutterbuck takes the ride again, having won on him two runs back at Southwell.
