Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Padishakh (105) – The selection looked to represent a bit of value, following an encouraging return to action, and was backed from 14/1 into 17/2 before the off. However, he raced too keen early on, and when asked for his effort in the home straight there was very little response. He has been a very disappointing horse overall.
0.5pt e/way Smart System (106) – Conor Beasley’s mount looked the value pre-race, and so it proved having been backed from 11/2 into 4/1 favourite. He improved two lengths per mile on his latest win, and used his early pace to track the leader before getting on top by two and three quarter lengths in the home straight. Result 1st 11/2, 5/1 adv…4/1F SP.
1pt e/way Little Keilee (95) – Friendless in the market having been backed into 4/1 in the morning, the selection went off at 8/1. Her race was over early on as she blew the start, and couldn’t make up the ground in the home straight. An effort to put a line through.
0.5pt e/way Perfect Judgement (106) – It was right to take on the front two in the market. Unfortunately, the selection recorded a time two lengths slower than his latest effort coming home in fifth place beaten a length and three quarters. Perhaps this race came a bit too soon just fourteen days after his latest race.
Today’s Advice
FOREVER YOUNG (9F Gp1) – The selection gets a chance to show that he is one of the best dirt horses in the world in today’s (5.40) Riyadh and take home the first prize of £8 million to the winner. A wide draw in stall fourteen doesn’t make matters easy, and it will be interesting to see how he is ridden. His main rival in the betting Romantic Warrior has his dirt debut today, and there have to be doubts about him being as effective on the surface as he is on turf. It would be easy to go looking for value outside the favourite with front runner Walk Of Stars, and recent course winner Rattle N Roll, but I will simply have a small win bet on the favourite, and enjoy the race.
WILDE AND DANDY (7f Hcap) – Favourite Enpassant sets a decent standard to aim at having won in a solid time at Kempton last time out. The selection was slowly away last time out at Southwell (as he can be), and used up too much energy early on to race prominently before weakening in the home straight. I am willing to forgive him that run, and if he can reproduce his solid course form he might represent a bit of value against the short priced favourite.
