Starsoftheclock Monday 26th May 2025 Selections And Review

Yesterday’s Review

0.5pt e/way One Look (112) – A solid enough performance from the selection who finished a half length behind the favourite Porta Fortuna (113). She was slow enough from the stalls, and as more of a big grinding type than the winner she needed to race more forward to have any chance of beating the favourite. It was good to see her put two solid performances together back to back. Result 2nd 7/2, 10/3 adv…3/1SP.

0.5pt e/way Swelter (98) – The selection got a little worked up before the race, and having raced keenly early on found nothing when asked to quicken coming home a well beaten ninth. A long way off her impressive Leopardstown win…

Today’s Advice

MAMMY (6f 12y Hcap) – The (2.10) Windsor looks a race where very few horses have put up big numbers on the clock on turf recently. The favourite Papabella looked like a filly ahead of her handicap mark when just missing out by a short head last month on the all-weather at Kempton. Her best form appears to be with a bit of cut in the ground, so it will be interesting to see how she performs on today’s Good To Firm going.

The selection is back down to her last winning handicap mark, and she returned to form for her new connections last time out at Salisbury over six furlongs when finishing third behind Safari Dream in an apprentice handicap under today’s rider Joe Bradnam. The winner has won again since, and she looks a little overpriced in the betting as an in-form contestant with recent form on the advertised ground.

TWO B TANNED (8f 53y Hcap) – This four-year-old filly has been in great form for trainer Julie Camacho since arriving from the George Scott yard having won her last three contests. The handicapper has raised her five pounds for her latest win at Musselburgh, but connections have offset that by booking five pound apprentice Tom Kiely- Marshall.

She likes to get on with things out in front, and despite there being a few contestants who have yet to show their best form, including the well-bred Tequila, I will be on the daughter of Saddler’s Rock’s side until she is beaten.

BRAZILIAN BELLE (5f Hcap) – This three-year-old filly has been dropped a pound by the handicapper for her latest effort behind Tees Aggregates over the minimun trip at Catterick recently. She raced a little keen that day but galloped all the way to the line recording a consisent RPR rating of 72. She had another of today’s contestants in behind in Jeany May, and she looks the right price for a sporting interest for today’s (4.00) Redcar with the front three in the betting ahead of her looking short enough.
