Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Mammy (97) – The selection looked to be coming with a decent challenge over a furlong out before being denied a clear run. There might be a small race in her at a lower level with professional handling.
1pt e/way Two B Tanned (110) – Tom Kiely-Marshall’s mount was taken to the front and never saw another rival. She already held the top spot on the speed chart over the contestant’s on the day, but this was another level up again. A great story for connections, and hopefully another win or two still to come. Result 1st 4/1 adv…11/2 SP.
0.5pt e/way Brazilian Belle (98) – The selection put together the figure I had in mind for her before the race. Unfortunatley, Jeany May managed to reverse for with her from last time out, and she just missed out on the places. I was expecting the track to be well watered, as her best form is on a slower surface, but the winning times on the straight course were 14 lengths per mile faster than standard. It was still a solid effort, nevertheless.
Today’s Advice
STARTLING (5f 21y Hcap) – This three-year-old filly has been performing with credit over course and distance recently for connections. She was just beaten by a half length on both occasions by Nightbird and Rock N Roll Rocket. The cheekpieces are being put on for tonight’s (7.12) Wolverhampton, and if they sharpen her up in any way at all she should go close. She usually races in midfield and finishes her races out well when asked.
Five pound apprentice Cian Horgan is back on board tonight having rode her last time out. Cian has been in good form this month having twice on the Liam Bailey trained sprinter Protest Rally.
The obvious danger will be the The Feminine Urge who has already done us a favour this season. It will be interesting to see if she can be as effective on the Tapeta.
