Goodie Two Shoes (111) – The selection showed that her impressive performance from Gowran Park was no fluke with another strong display here. She travelled nicely throughout before taking up the running two furlongs from home. The Paddy Twomey trained La Isla Mujeres (110) briefly looked dangerous inside the final furlong but the selection had enough up her sleeve to keep that rival at bay by a length and a half. Today’s Advice
ARKINTHESTARS (10f 70y Hcap) – A drop back in trip should see this three-year-old filly go close in today’s (5.35) Chester. Last time out she was stepping up in distance to 12 furlongs when she weakened out of the places at Thirsk behind Hallelujah U. She was mightily impressive the last time we seen her over the extended 9 furlongs at Ripon when she powered 8 1/2 lengths clear of Rommie The Miracle (who was won since).
Silvestre De Sousa takes the ride from a lovely draw in stall two, and although she has an improving favourite in Yellow Card to beat, she looks worth an interest at the prices on offer.
KNIGHT’S GOLD (7f 135y Hcap) – This three-year-old won cosily at Leicester two runs back, and the handicapper has left him unchanged for an unlucky effort last time out at Newcaste. On that occasion he didn’t see daylight from the rear until late on in a slowly run race under Hollie Doyle and was doing all his best work at the finish.
Back on turf for tonight’s (7.40) Lingfield, and with Sean Bowen taking over, he looks one to keep on the right side of going forward.
