Yesterday’s Review
1pt win Buy The Dip (103) – Another solid effort at this venue from the selection somehow getting collared in the last stride after leading over a furlong from home and looking all over the winner.
1pt e/way Profiteer (102) – The selection looked to be a bit overpriced beforehand considering his excellent course form and the market reacted accordingly moving him from 13/2 into 10/3 favourite. He put up another solid display despite wandering around in the home straight, as he can do, to finish second to the much improved winner. He won’t bump into one so ahead of the handicapper in future. Result 2nd 13/2, 6/1 adv…10/3F SP.
Today’s Advice
PASHA (9f 201y Hcap) – This four-year-old filly showed her first decent piece of form for new trainer James Owen last time out over the extended mile at Leicester. With the hood and tongue tie left off she was dropped out in rear, and was noted finishing best of all in the home straight behind all the way winner Two B Tanned. With front runners Schemaya and Patsy Snugfit in opposition for today’s (4.30) Salisbury it is hoped that a similar approach could see her reproduce that effort under Hector Crouch.
Short priced favourite Crepe Suzette broke her maiden tag 43 days ago on the all-weather at Wolverhampton, and it will be interesting to see if she can be as effective on turf.
MYBOYMAX (15f 189y Hcap) – The (7.40) Catterick sees the Ewan Whillans trained six-year-old Zephlyn attempt to land a course and distance hat-trick within 29 days, and the form he is in would see him have every chance. He does meet the selection on six pounds worse terms than when they met last month, and at the prices the Micky Hammond trained veteran might get a bit closer to him tonight than when having his seasonal debut.
The headgear was left off on that occasion, and a similar approach will be in use tonight. He raced prominently that day and didn’t get the clearest of runs up the inside near the finish. At the prices he represents a bit of value if he can reproduce that form, or even come forward from his seasonal debut.
