Starsoftheclock Sunday 19th October 2025 Selections And Review

Yesterday’s Review

0.5pt e/way Never So Brave (109) – A race that looked like it paid to race as close to the far rail as possible with 100/1 winner Cicero’s Gift (114) and The Lion In Winter (112) enjoying an advantage. The selection raced keen early on and never looked threatening. Perhaps the race was needed following a 56 day break.

1pt e/way Delacroix (112) – The selection looked to be in the perfect position to challenge for the win with his two big rivals behind him turning into the home straight. However, he failed to quicken and ended up behind Calandagan (116) and Ombudsman (114) and could only keep on at the one pace. Failing to secure third place by a nose was a bit of a sickener, but overall the horse failed to sparkle and perhaps he has had a long season being on the go since March.

0.75pt e/way Queue Dos (93) – A run too bad to be true as the selection failed to respond to any urgings at the business end of the race trailing home fourteen and a quarter lengths behind in last place. Something must have been amiss.

Today’s Advice

SHAOOL (10f Lst) – This four-year-old filly has been very impressive this season with two wins when ground conditions were on the soft side. With the going for today’s (3.26) Leopardstown currently advertised as Soft (Heavy in places) and with more rain on the way it looks like conditions will be to her liking.

Her win over 9f at this venue back in June on a soft surface may have only been in a handicap but the way she travelled and quickened up to come home over four lengths clear was eyecatching as was the (114) timefigure. Her latest win at the Curragh was just as impressive and with an RPR of 97+ she looks ready for a step up in grade.

The favourite Trustyourinstinct will need to return to form having had a quiet run last time out and with the selection receiving ten pounds she looks worth an interest against the favourite.
