Starsoftheclock Saturday 1st November 2025 Selections and Review

Yesterday’s Review

1pt e/way Brussels (110) – The selection was first into the stalls and as can be the case in that situation last out. He missed the break by a few lengths which cost him victory in the end. It was an excellent recovery to pass every horse except the winner at the finish. Result 2nd 8/1, 15/2 adv…68/10 SP (Rule 4 10c).

Today’s Advice

THE GREEN MAN (6f Hcap) – This six-year-old has won two of his last three races (both over course and distance) since being switched to trainer Philip Kirby. His first win for the stable was very strong on the clock where he travelled very well in midfield before coming home three lengths clear of Pancake in a Class 6 handicap recording a (111) timefigure. He followed that up with another win in a slowly run race under the welter burden of 10st by three quarters of a length from Asadjumeirah.

The handicapper has only raised him four pound for his latest win for tonight’s (6.45) Newcastle and considering he was rated in the 90s just over a year ago it looks like connections could have a bit of fun with him providing he can be kept sweet.

The price is as it should be, but he looks worth having onside while he is in winning form.

1pt win The Green Man (3/1 general) 6.45 Newcastle

(I did have an in-depth look at The Breeder’s Cup tonight and the few that I was half interested in had some questions to be asked of or were priced lower than I would have liked.)
