Today’s Advice
SPACETOWN/MARSOOD (6f Cns) – The (1.30) Meydan looks a fascinating contest and it’s hard to be less than complimentary about the short price favourite Union Security who looked sensational on debut when pulling a train home by five lengths over course and distance. Stall nine today might make things a bit more difficult for him but short price favourite backers have a lot of boxes ticked for today’s contest.
Six Speed was also wildly impressive on the clock when recording a (114) timefigure in his trial when coasting home in front by 8.5 lengths over five furlongs at this venue. He looked like he stumbled slightly from the gates last time out and I don’t believe we saw the same horse when he was well beaten by the favourite. It will be interesting to see if he can show us what he is all about today but having the worst of the draw in stall ten is a real sickener for followers.
The former selection won his trial impressively on the same day as Six Speed and while only recording a (110) timefigure he has drawn nicely on the inside in stall two and the form of that trial has been boosted with Rakaan winning at Jebel Ali. There looks to be enough in his price for a sporting wager.
The latter selection was equally impressive in winning his trial at Jebel Ali when coming home 2.6 lengths clear hard held over five furlongs when recording a (107) timefigure. This was a big step forward from his trial debut behind Six Speed and he looks a shade overpriced in the betting.
MAYANA (7f Maiden) – Short price favourite Ruler Of Time looks the form pick on British form for today’s (2.05) Meydan but a couple of negatives may prove helpful in finding a bit of value by looking elsewhere. The stable did manage to win a nice race with Devon Island who was also beaten on all-weather debut but the son of Not This Time has also been gelded since his all-weather defeat.
The selection finished nicely in fourth place beaten just 1.4 lengths behind Tufaan E Dubai over five furlongs at today’s venue while recording a (108) timefigure. It looked one of the stronger trials on the day despite the field finishing in a bit of a bunch and she looks to represent a bit of value at the prices when compared to today’s other trialists.
FROSTFIRE (8f Maiden) – The selection for today’s (5.35) Meydan won his trial staying on nicely over five furlongs from recent course runner-up Tjareed when recording a (106) timfigure last month. He caught the eye last time out on turf over seven furlongs at Abu Dhabi when missing the break in behind and was given kid glove treatment by jockey William Pereyra to coast home in sixth place behind Royal Officer. The step up in trip looks just what the doctor ordered on breeding with his dam Exemplify winning over the mile as a two-year-old.
