PEARLY SQUIRREL (7f 36y Hcap) – This three-year-old filly put in a solid enough display on stable debut for David Loughnane last time out over course and disatnce when finishing in fourth place behind Landlordtothestars following a 45 day break. She had to use up a bit of petrol early on from her wide draw in stall eight on that occasion and didn’t get the clearest of runs in the home straight before keeping on well at the finish. The handicapper has left her alone for tonight’s (8.30) Wolverhampton off a mark of 61 and it will be interesting to see if she can build on that effort.

She had been wearing a tongue tie and cheekpieces in her previous races but connections have removed all that for her now and she seems to have benefitted from it. She is well drawn in stall two and apprentice Laura Coughlan takes another handy three pounds off her back. The favourite Penelope Valentine returned to winning ways last time out at Lingfield and also has a course and distance win when sporting the first time visor. She looks short enough in the betting but with two wins from her last six races looks sure to give favourite backers a decent run for their money.
