Today’s Advice

FIRCOMBE HALL (6f Hcap) – This seven-year-old showed his first bit of form in a long time last time out over course and distance when finishing runner-up behind Yorkshire Glory. That was just his fourth run of the season and he has been lightly raced since March last year. He has dropped right down the weights since finishing runner up to Ana Emaraaty in October 2024, and apprentice jockey Rhys Ellitt takes the ride again following an excellent effort last time out.

The more pace on in today’s (5.35) Newcastle the better for the selection and with north westerly winds from 19-16 mph forecast it may pay to find a bit of cover from the front. Prominent racers such as Nazca, Beneficiary and Aurora’s Doublesix should ensure a true pace, and although this is a lower grade than I would usually get involved in today’s other contests looked competitive enough.
