Yesterday’s Review
1pt e/way The Camden Colt (101) – A shockingly bad performance from the selection who recorded a time 8 lengths slower than his latest performance at Jebel Ali, and 5 lengths slower than his course and distance win. The winner looked held on their previous matchup and this was too bad to be true as the selection plodded home in sixth place beaten 7.75 lengths….
0.5pt e/way Impressive Act (104) – The selection recorded a time 3 lengths slower than his latest win over seven furlongs. He never looked like he was putting his best foot forward in the home straight and he looks one to avoid going forward.
Today’s Advice
OMAHA FRONT (8f Cns) – The (11.30) Jebel Ali looks an interesting contest with stable jockey Tadhg O’Shea electing to ride the short priced favourite Ashwaan from four possible selections. Ashwaan broke his maiden nicely last time out over 6f by 3.5 lengths from Fire D’Oro. I awarded him a lowly timefigure of (100) on the day and the handicapper has given him a rating of 80 for that effort. He quickened readily clear at the furlong marker and it would be difficult to gauge how far ahead of his mark over the mile he might be.
The selection also broke his duck under Tadhg O’Shea over the straight mile last time out when recording a (107) timefigure when thrashing 73 rated Al Fareeq by 8.75 lengths having took up the running 4 furlongs out. The handicapper has rated that performance 6lbs superior to the favourite. This morning’s contest is over the round mile and another positive for the selection is that his dam won twice over the mile. At the prices on offer the selection looks worth an interest.
