GREAT SPIRIT (6f Hcap) – The (10.35) Happy Valley looks a contest full of reluctant heroes and the selection falls into that category slightly with just one win from his last 14 races. He has had a couple of situations recently, though, that may not have shown him at his best with one from a wide draw in stall 11 behind Szeryng over 6f at Sha Tin and another when returning from a 41 day break behind Emblazon over the same course and distance. Last time out he was stuck three wide from his draw in stall seven but put in a decent enough finish to secure the silver medal from too far back.

A better draw in stall two this morning should hopefully ensure a kinder trip and while he’s not one we can be adamant about he looks worth a small interest in a race where solid form is difficult to nail down.
