1pt e/way Straight To Glory (104) – It was right to take on the short priced favourite Greater Bae who’s running style is always going to need luck in-running at a sharp track like Happy Valley. The selection recorded a below than expected performance as the number I had in mind for him was in line with what the winner My Day My Way (107) had achieved. He raced in touch with the leaders but I thought his pilot Keith Leung allowed too many rivals to take his position before the home turn. The combination didn’t handle the home bend well and he could only keep on into sixth place as the winner powered home down his outside. We had landed on the winner in the past and he returned to form having disappointed as a favourite last time out.
