U S S CHARLESTON (6f Hcap) – This three-year-old caught the eye last time out when finishing fastest over 5f at Wolverhampton having raced from a wide draw. He was closing down the leader at the finish and easily produced the quickest final furlong in 11.37 secs running on well to grab third place beaten just over a length. The handicapper has left him alone for today’s (4.25) Lingfield and he has already raced over today’s course and distance when finishing in sixth place beaten two lengths behind Saffron Dandy back in February. It was remarkable that he was able to finish so close considering that he raced so keenly throughout the race. Apprentice Tom Kiely-Marshall has ridden him the last twice and his main job will be to get the horse to relax throughout the contest as he did last time out.

With plenty of stamina in his pedigree (the dam Charleston Belle won over 6f at Wolverhampton) he should be finishing well provided he can travel comfortably throughout the contest. He looks worth an interest at a double figure price this morning.
