0.5pt e/way Silver State (100) – The selection got involved in a pace duel with Delinquent (96) who had made the running on career debut six races ago but had been ridden with restraint since. That put paid to both their chances as the fist three home came from the rear. Rose Dawes mount toughed it out a lot better than David Allans mount eventually beaten just over 3 lengths back in fifth.
1pt e/way Myal (106) – I thought David Allan might drop in behind Poet Master and Audience and try to save something for the finish but he pushed the pace all the way from the start. They set the race up beautifully for the favourite and it was remarkable that the selection toughed it out to hold on for second place. Result 2nd 13/2 adv…5/1 SP.
Today’s Advice
NIGHTIME/KOMOREBI (8f Gp1) – The (2.50) Longchamp sees the short priced Aidan O’Brien trained favourite Puerto Rico attempt to record a four-timer having won the last twice he has been seen in France. He has made all the running in his last three races and I am hoping that there might be enough pace pressure up front to leave him vulnerable for the finish especially on his seasonal debut. The formline I like is the Group 3 Prix De Fonatainebleau rematch between Komorebi and Nighttime. The Andre Fabre trained colt got the better of the argument last time out on Good ground by a cosy looking head while recording a (115) timefigure, but with today’s ground described as Soft with the possibilty of a few millimetres more on the way I am siding with the runner-up on the day who has better form on a softer surface. It looks like they have both progressed very well from two to three and with the run under their belt they might surprise the favourite. The draw in thirteen makes things more difficult for the former selection but if the pace duel transpires up front it should play into his hands.
