Today’s Advice

WOODSTOCK (7f 96y Hcap) – This six-year-old has been knocking on the door recently and with his main rival more effective over the mile this could be a good opportunity for him to get his head in front for the first time in nearly two years. Now rated 7lb below his last winning mark he went close last time out over 7f at Thirsk when beaten just over a length behind Brighton Boy. He raced prominently that day and kept on all the way to the line. Joanna Mason is back on board for today’s (3.15) Beverley and he should go close once again.

His main danger Coolree is a tough nut to crack at today’s venue as he has won four times round here but over the extended mile. I will be hoping the selection’s form over the distance can swing things his way.

CAVIAR COWBOY (7f Hcap) – This three-year-old has been in fine form recently and won very well by 2.5 lengths over 7f at Lingfield from Mighty Vega. His (107) timefigure on that occasion looks the best on offer for tonight’s (8.00) Kempton and if he is in the same mood he will be hard to beat. the handicapper has put him up 7lb for that effort and the James Fanshawe stable have been in fine form with four winners in the last two weeks. A runner-up behind Silent Strike over 6f at tonight’s venue back in February he has really improved since stepped up in trip. As a hold-up performer the more pace up front the better and there does appear to be a few prominent racers in tonight’s field with the favourite Ya Karim, Lord Britain, Northern Empire and On The Inlet having got on with things from the front previously.
