CHALK MOUNTAIN/METAL MERCHANT (7f Hcap) – The (7.00) Kempton looks to have a few contestants that like to get on with things and that should suit the selection who has won three times over course and distance. Last time out he put in another solid display over 7f at Southwell when finishing runner-up to the James Tate trained Storm Free. He raced in midfield on that occasion, racing enthusiastically as he can do, before making headway over two furlongs out with the winner just getting the better of him in the finish by a half length. Alfie Redman is back on board again and his 7lb allowance should help once again. The main danger looks to be the John Butler trained Metal Merchant who has been dropping down the ratings and now finds himself 8lb lower than when winning over two years ago. The Butler stable has been in fine form lately and he showed a bit more last time out when finishing just over 2 lengths behind Fantastic Fox at Newcastle.
