Today’s Advice
BOURBON BLUES (10f 43y Hcap) – The (2.25) Doncaster looks a nice opportunity for the selection who holds two of the strongest pieces of form in today’s field. Two runs back he was trying to give the well handicapped Ciarrai Abu a stone over 10f at Goodwood and only went down by a length running on at the finish. He stepped up on that effort last time out in a hot Heritage handicap when finishing third from a car park draw to Raammee over a similar distance at York. He raced in rear on that occasion and didn’t get the clearest of runs through before keeping on well to finish a length and a half behind the winner.
Ryan Moore has been booked for today and the selection looks to have this race at his mercy judging by the form of his two market rivals. Favourite Knights Charge hasn’t been seen in 114 days since winning a weak novice at Nottingham over 10f back in May. Obviously, he could have something in hand racing off 91 for his handicap debut, but the form of that win doesn’t look too hot with the second and third both hammered in their next contests.
The same comment could be said about the third in the betting Besieged who although winning by 14 lengths last time out hasn’t been seen in 93 days and the beaten horses on the day have since looked average. The faster they go up front the better and with front-runner Sintra in the field we should get a decent pace to aim at. Everything looks in place for a big run from the selection and he looks sure to go close.
