MIDNIGHT MEDIA/EMMA’S LETTER (11f Hcap) – The (8.00) Southwell looks a competitive fillies handicap with 14 runners going to post at the time of writing. The favourite Midnight Media makes her debut on tonight’s surface and she has looked a shade unlucky the last two times over 9.5f at Wolverhampton. A hold up horse, that looks tricky to land on the line, she has been very consistent in winning or placing second in her last six starts. Last time out she was denied a clear run in behind, and kept on well to go down by a length to The Anthony Gover. The handicapper has only raised her a pound and she should be in the mix at the business end providing she takes to the tapeta at tonight’s venue.
The latter selection has already placed at tonight’s venue over the mile and she looks to be improving nicely on the clock judging by her latest win at Newmarket by 2.5 lengths from the Jim & Suzi Best trained Liberate. She raced prominently on that occasion and kept finding when asked before really knuckling down in the finish to record a (102) timefigure. The handicapper has put her up 4lb for that, and if her recent progress can be applied to the tapeta she should put in a decent performance at what looks like a bit of a value price this morning.
Billy Loughnane is back on board again and the young star has been in fine form this month having rode a treble at Kempton last night.
