Yesterday’s Review
1pt win Debydinks – A different style of race from the one on the 15th March when the selection recorded a speed figure of (103). Here, there was no South Dakota Sioux and Mystical Dreams to set a nice pace. The winner Cavalier Approach only recorded a speed figure of (95), in what looked a race which had a lot less pace. No excuses for Debydinks, who was keen early on, as the response when asked to quicken over a furlong out was limited.
Today’s Advice
A lot of meetings today but very few solid options for me.
Fort Vega (7f Maiden) An interesting race at Gowran Park (4.50) today, which see’s Sheila Lavery’s colt take his chance, following a noteworthy seasonal debut last time out at Limerick. A three wide trip didn’t help his cause, but it was encouraging to see him closing down the first and second who had it all their own way in front. Hopefully, he can make another step forward today from a better draw. The 6/4 favourite Dutch Gold didn’t get the clearest of runs on his seasonal debut at Cork, but he looks well found in the market. It will be interesting to see if Saturn Seven can reproduce her good fourth place finish at Limerick behind Bellaphina when wearing a first time tongue tie. At the prices a small interest in Sheila Lavery’s colt is the call today.
