Yesterday’s Review

1pt e/way Carnival Zain – A Class 3 Handicap that equalled Par yesterday, resulting in a (107) speed figure for the winner. The selection struggled to put together a (102) speed figure. Perhaps the run came too soon just fourteen days after a career best on seasonal debut. We didn’t get to see the real Carnival Zain yesterday.

Today’s Advice

Tantallus (6f Handicap) Ben Haslam’s 3-y-o gelding returns to a sound surface today in the final race at Ripon (5.25) in the Graeme Dand @theformanalyst Celebration Handicap today. From a career low handicap mark of (60) and back on a sound surface, we may see a return to form from the son of Kodiac. Still lightly raced with only eight races under his belt, it is noticeable that his highest RPR (67) was when finishing third at Haydock last year on a sounder surface. He had been on an upward trajectory on the clock until his recent fifth on Heavy ground at Catterick. With the ground riding Good (GFm) today, a chance is taken at a double figure price.
