1pt e/way Eternal Silence (8f Gp1) – Jessica Harrington’s 3-y-o maiden filly reopposes Dermot Weld’s odds-on favourite Tahiyra in the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas at The Curragh (3.50). The daughter of War Front (USA) finished an admirable third place behind her in last year’s Moyglare Stud Stakes over 7f at this track on a very soft surface. The combination of better ground and the extra furlong should see the selection in a better light today considering the dam Princess Highway was a 10f winner on a sound surface. It should be noted that connections have won a Gp1 in the past, following a break of over 250 days, with Alpine Star winning the Coronation Cup at Royal Ascot in 2020. The market seems to have underestimated her chance based on her most recent effort from last year.
