Treacherous (6f 12y Hcap) – Ed de Giles 9-y-o gelding had been enduring a quiet spell on the clock since finishing second (105) behind Temple Bruer in September last year at Doncaster. A win last December at Wolverhampton off a lowly handicap mark of (72) by a neck from Pocket The Profit recording an excellent (108) showed that he is no back number. A solid 5th place behind Shobiz on his second start of the season last month recording a speed figure of (106) carrying 8st 8lbs (while not getting the clearest of runs) showed that he was still dangerously well handicapped on the Turf off (75). And so it proved lto carrying 9lbs more on his back and reversing form with that rival to win by a head. He has run well off short breaks in the past and everything looks in place for another solid effort in tonight’s (7.05) Windsor.
Gilbert (11f 99y) Adam West’s 4-y-o gelding had dropped right down the ratings from a career high handicap mark of (58) till he won snugly off a mark of (46) over C/D two weeks ago recording a career best speed figure of (102). He then followed that up with a solid second place finish behind Gearing’s Point five days ago in a race run at a crawl at Yarmouth. The excellent Tom Marquand takes the ride in tonight’s (8.05) Windsor, as the son of Cityscape gets into this (0-50) Cassified Stakes nicely off a handicap mark of just (48). He has won off a four day break in the past so everything looks right for another solid effort.
