0.5pt e/way Dear Cat (99) – A five lengths per mile inferior performance to her Salisbury win from the selection. She appeared to race too keen early on and couldn’t find another gear when asked to quicken at the business end. It will be worth keeping an eye on her when she gets an uncontested lead at a track with less emphasis on speed.

0.5pt e/way Grateful (111) – Everything appeared to be going well when she headed the eventual winner three furlongs out. The response when asked to battle was disappointing as she flashed her tail and wandered about before fading into third place. She would be one to have reservations about until she shows this to be a minor blip. Result 3rd 13/2 adv…11/4F SP.

0.75pt e/way T’Challa (104) – Had every chance when given a soft lead by the eventual winner but couldn’t hold him off inside the final furlong. It will be interesting to see if a return to a faster surface could bring about more improvement. Result 2nd 5/1 adv…13/2 SP.

0.5pt e/way Secret Daay (69) – No response from the selection when asked to compete as the race developed, and he eventually was tailed off last. He looks way off the form he was in during the winter.

0.5pt e/way Sydney Bay (96) – A dubious character at the best of times, and he looks impossible to get to put his best foot forward lately. One to avoid.
