Today’s Advice

MOUNT KOSCIUSZKO (8f Hcap) – This six-year-old has been performing consistently this season, and may appreciate the drop in class and distance for today’s (3.50) Meydan. A third place finish behind two classier types over the extended nine furlongs at Jebel Ali in an (85-105) handicap was a solid effort, and his second place finish behind Elyabri round here back in December has been advertised by the winner since. The faster they go up front the better for him, and he will be looking to come into the race in the later stages from behind. Favourite Elraaed won well at Jebel Ali last time, but has yet to show great consistency so far in his career.

WARSONG (7f Hcap) – No Retreat tries to break his maiden tag at the sixth attempt in today’s (5.35) Meydan, and I was happy to look elsewhere for the winner having found him to be a difficult one to have maximium faith in. The selection looked all over the winner last time out having led over a furlong out over six furlongs, but having raced keenly early on was found out near the finish having his first run in 471 days. He is bred to appreciate further, and providing he can relax better today, and doesn’t fall foul to the dreaded “bounce” he could be worth taking the favourite on with. Dylan Brown McMonagle takes the ride, and any improvement should see him go close.
