Today’s Advice

WELEYFF (7f Nursery) – This Edward Bethell trained juvenile looked to be heading in the right direction when making all the running over 7f at Doncaster two runs back to win by a confortable length and a quarter in a similar contest to today’s (2.57) Newbury. Conditions looked to be a little bit softer than advertised last time out at York when he was always behind and he shoud appreciate the return to a faster surface today. Just 4lb above his last winning mark he should go close once again.

William Buick has been booked and he has finished runner-up and in third place from four career rides for the stable. Hopefully, he can go one place better today.

ROUSING ENCORE (6f Hcap) – The selection has yet to encounter soft conditions this season under which he was successful over course and distance at this meeting in 2025. He missed the breaked on good ground last time out over 6f at Ripon and posted the fastest final two furlongs of the entire field when coming home in fifth place. With the ground advertised as Soft (Good to Soft in places) he should appreciate today’s surface much better and with a bit more luck from the stalls he should be in the shake-up at the finish.

He has dropped back down to the handicap mark he raced off when last successful for today’s (3.40) Ayr, and stable jockey James Sullivan, who has been on board for his last three career wins, rides once again.

SEND HARRY (7f Hcap) – This four-year-old has looked a difficult type to catch this season having put together solid back to back performances at Leopardstown and Limerick during the summer. The drop back to 6f would not have suited last time out at Cork and conditions on the day were riding a good bit softer than the advertised Good (Good to Yielding). He raced on what looked the best part of the track from stall 17 as the first three home were drawn high on the day. However, he hung to the right when asked for his effort over two furlongs from home before weakening into 11th place beaten 8 lengths.

The handicapper has dropped him a further 2lb for tonight’s (6.30) Dundalk and considering he won this contest last year from a pound higher mark conditions look ideal for him (providing he is still in good form with himself).
