1pt e/way My Sand Boy (92) – A remarkable performance from the selection in coming home 10 lengths per mile slower than his previous effort. It was only the “never give up” attitude of his jockey Luke Morris that carried him over the line into fourth place. Hopefully he can achieve the consistency needed going forward. Today’s Advice

Miss Rainbow (6f Nursery) – This Tracy Waggott trained 2yo filly returns to the same C&D following a decent third place lto for tonight’s (6.00) Newcastle. On that occasion she was returning from a 75 day break and recorded a competitive (92) speed rating for tonight’s grade. Any improvement on that effort should see her in the battle for the win tonight. Louella looks to be a danger on her Turf form, and the favourite Torvar has been well found by the market.

Storm Eric (7f Hcap) – This likeable 4yo gelding is a real course specialist and races off a 4lb lower mark than when winning over C&D in April for tonight’s (7.15) Dundalk. He hasn’t been seen on sand since, and has been quiet on Turf recently. His most recent effort when fourth on Soft ground at Galway, which wouldn’t have suited, was a bit more posititive. A nice draw in stall (1) has been secured for tonight, and as second reserve he will need two to come out of tonight’s contest to get in.

Vadiana (7f Hcap) – This 4yo filly proved a revelation when she won her maiden by 3 1/4 lengths last December over the mile here when recording a (113) speed rating in the process. She hasn’t been seen since on sand, and although tonight’s distance is not ideal, there could be enough pace on with Alabama Pearl, Red Heel, La Tulipe Noire and Eastern Wind in the field. Described as having quickened into the lead that night, it is possible that she may be a different proposition on tonight’s surface having yet to win since on Turf. She looks worth a small interest at the prices on offer to see if that is the case.
