Today’s Advice

PADISHAKH (9f Hcap) – The front two in the market for today’s (2.40) Meydan, Emperor’s Star and Folk Festival, have been well found, and look the obvious ones to concentrate on. For a bit of value I landed on this David O’Meara trained five-year-old who put in a solid Meydan debut last time out behind Asaassi. Held up out the back, as he usually is, he made nice headway late on, and his closing sectionals were some of the fastest in the race. He has been somewhat of a disappointing type back in the UK last season, but has shown flashes of potential last summer from similar handicap marks to today’s. A reproduction of his second place finish behind Aragon Castle at Ayr, when beaten a neck from a pound higher mark, would see him in with a chance in today’s contest. The faster they go up front the better, and front runner’s such as Tamrat and First Constitution should ensure a decent enough pace.

SMART SYSTEM (6f Hcap) – The first-time visor worked well last time out for this five-year-old when coming home two and three quarter lengths clear of Davy Lamp over seven furlongs at today’s venue. There is the question of the headgear working again over the shorter trip, but with his two main rivals in the betting Barq Al Emarat and Border Edge drawn out wide, it may pay to side with Conor Beasley’s mount in the (5.35) Meydan. A reproduction of the pace he showed last time out should see him challenging for the win, provided he is in the same mood.

LITTLE KEILEE (7f Hcap) – This five-year-old mare returned to something like her best form last time out when getting the better of Rockbury Lad by three quarters of a length over the mile round here. On that occasion she raced in touch with the leaders before taking up the running a furlong from home. The drop back to seven furlongs for today’s (6.00) Dundalk should be fine for her as a former course and distance winner. The likes of Punk Poet and Brains should ensure a truly run race, and she is till well handicapped on last season’s course form when she won off today’s handicap mark. Clonmacash won nicely in a fast time last time out over six furlongs, and looks the main danger with previous form over today’s distance.

PERFECT JUDGEMENT (8f Hcap) – This four-year-old has been in the form of his life recently, since the blinkers have been applied, winning his last three races over tonight’s course and distance. While the handicapper has had his say now with an eight pound hike for his latest win, and this (7.00) Dundalk representing a step up in class, he does represent the best current form on offer. Cheers Again, and I Am Superman look the main dangers on past form, but both are coming back from lay-offs and have been well found by the market. The race should be run to suit with front runners Proleek Prince and Exquisite Acclaim in the line-up, plus Jack Kearney’s five pound allowance should help with the recent rise in the weights. The selection travels well throughout his races, and could surprise if his main market rivals are not one hundred per cent ready for tonight’s contest.
