Starsoftheclock Friday 25th September 2026 Selections And Review

25th September, 2026 @ 8:51am

Yesterday’s Review

1pt win Midnight Media (100) – Very little went right for the the selection throughout the race who had to make her own running early on and raced keenly before being badly hampered by a swerving contestant in the home straight. She came home in 4th place beaten 2 lengths and a line can be put through this.

0.75pt e/way Emma’s Letter (99) – The selection looked to be coming with a decent challenge inside the final furlong, having raced in touch, when she was badly hampered by a swerving contestant. She weakened into 5th place beaten 2.75 lengths and will be worth another chance going forward.

Today’s Advice

LEANNESPOUR/STORM ERIC (7f Hcap) – The (7.00) Dundalk sees a rematch between a few of last Friday night’s contestants and the two selections were my preferred duo from the first four in the betting. The former selection is a lightly raced three year old filly trained by Eddie Lynam who has started her handicap career right at the bottom of the handicap rankings. Last time out over course and distance she raced in rear and was denied a clear run through in the home straight under Declan McDonagh before coming home in 5th place beaten 2.75 lengths.

Claiming sensation of the moment Reese Holohan takes 7lb from her back tonight and with a bit better luck in-running the favourite looks a solid option to go close. The latter selection finished runner-up in the same race behind Starflow and he is a three-time course winner who has been “in the wilderness” for a while as Brendan Duke would say, but is well overdue a win at the moment. Last time out he travelled in midfield and kept on well all the way to the line to go down by just a half length under 7lb apprentice Adam Grant (who is back on board again tonight). Better can be expected from rivals Usuario Amigo and Beat The Devil tonight, but I just felt the two selections showed a bit more last time out.

FLOWSTATE (7f Hcap) – The (7.45) Newcastle looks an interesting contest with front-runners Tasever and Lord Capulet in attendance. Short price favourite Frankies Dream will have his supporters and he is certainly overdue a win following some solid performances on turf this summer. He has a couple of course victories under his belt and looks sure to go close. At the prices I preferred the selection who is a four-time course and distance winner who put in a career best (107) timefigure when winning back in March over course and distance.

A hold-up performer he wasn’t ridden to his strengths last time out over 6f at Southwell when trying to make all following a 181 day break from the track. He came home in 5th place beaten 2.75 lengths and better should be seen of him tonight switched off in rear. Conor Whiteley takes a handy 5lb off his back tonight and the usually applied visor is also back on. Plenty of boxes are ticked for the likeable David O’Meara trained five-year-old tonight.
