Today’s Advice

PRAETORIAN (6f Hcap) – This former Archie Watson trained three year-old has been gradually working himself into form for his new connections and he showed a real liking for this course and distance last time out when coming home a length and a half clear of Asadna. He recorded a (109) timefigure on the day having chased the leader down from his inside draw in stall two. He holds three of today’s rivals on that effort for today’s (12.20) Riyadh and although the handicapper has hiked him up 10lbs to a mark of 91 a reproduction of that effort will see him very hard to beat.

Fahad Alfouraidi takes the ride again and his main job will be to get a clear run from his draw in stall one with possible front-runner Al Arbed to chase down.

HINT OF HUMOUR (5f 21y Hcap) – This Tony Carroll trained filly has been in tremendous form over course and distance this winter and looked a shade unlucky not to remain unbeaten her last four starts when taken down by the stewards for causing interference when finishing first past the post ahead of Invincible Crown back in October. She put that disqualification to bed when finishing three quarters of a length ahead of Speed Of Maajid last time out.

As she doesn’t win her races by wide margins the handicapper has had to be lenient with her and she is still able to get into today’s (3.00) Wolverhampton (0-70) handicap off topweight. Regular rider William Carson takes the ride and a kind draw in stall two should see her very competitive at the business end of today’s contest.

SPINNING DANCER (9f 104y Hcap) – Regular readers will be familiar with this Stan Moore trained filly who finished in fourth place for us at Kempton over the mile back in October. She recorded a lowly (93) timefigure on that occasion but a return to today’s tapeta surface should see her in a better light. She has recorded her two best career efforts on the clock at today’s venue and finished fourth once again last time out over course and distance.

She was returning from a 48 day break on that occasion and recorded a (100) timefigure when finishing three lengths behind Magic Runner. She raced in touch of the leaders on that occasion and jockey Kieran O’Neill takes the ride again for today’s (5.35) Wolverhampton. She looks a shade overpriced in the early markets having solid course form already in her profile.
