0.75pt e/w Royal Prospect (89) – A race result affected by a slow pace and a tailwind which would not have suited the hold up performers. One to put a line through.
Today’s Advice
Due Date (6F 20Y Hcap) – Easily the selection on the clock following his career best (107) over C&D last time out. The race was over one and a half seconds faster than the one Higher Law ran in on the same card. Just a slight concern for today’s (2.02) Wolverhampton that it will be his fourth race in twenty nine days with the reassurance that they are sprinters, and they are supposed to race regularly.
Arbaawi (8F Hcap) – The application of a first time visor, and a step up in trip may see a better performance from the selection who found trouble last time out when also selected by this column. There is a concern that the horse likes to find trouble, and the application of headgear is a warning sign that all is not well for tonight’s (6.00) Dundalk. As the outsider of the field, I am happy to have a minimum stake on him to find out.
Cabeza De Llave (5F Hcap) – A return to the C&D where he was last successful from a ten pound lower mark should see this Michael Attwater trained five-year-old go close in tonight’s (6.45) Chelmsford. He caught the eye over the same C&D last time out when racing in midfield before jockey Billy Loughnane switched him into trouble in the home straight. A strong finish was noted, and a decent pace from front runners Make Clear and Jacquelina should help his cause tonight.
