Yesterday’s Review

1pt win Al Hemroor (51) – A solid enough performance from the selection to finish in second place on the step up in trip, but he found the favourite six lengths too strong over this distance. Unfortunately, he had to make most of his own running and better will be seen from him back over ten furlongs with a bit of pace to aim at.

Today’s Advice

APOTHEOSIS (8f Hcap) – The (3.15) Meydan looks worth a second look today as the early morning favourite Force And Valour looked to have a tough race last time out and is back out very quickly seven days later. The same could be said about Zandvoort and Gray Boss who have had a longer rest but are both drawn badly today. The selection won very nicely over 7f at Newcastle recently and while this is his Meydan debut the strength of that win has been highlighted since.

Runner-up Pocklington won over 6f at Southwell last month and is now rated 99 by the handicapper while sixth placed Midnight Lion has won twice since. Simon & Ed Crisford’s four-year-old won by a length and a half on the day having raced in touch of the leaders and a recent wind operation looks to have brought out the best from him. His half-brother Story Of Light has already won on dirt and the dam Beuatiful Ending won over a mile at Wolverhampton.

The handicapper has only raised him four pounds for that Newcastle win and he could be nicely treated for his dirt debut. A kind draw in stall two and the booking of James Doyle add to the positives for the son of Night Of Thunder and he looks worth an interest for today’s contest.
